PLAY OVERVIEW:
The dramatic story of two powerful women, set in the tumultuous '60's, a time when the sexual revolution and The Women's Liberation Movement began. Margaret is an internationally famous Anglo-Irish novelist. Kit is a midwestern Jewish girl who comes to study with Margaret at the University of Wisconsin. The play then sweeps through their complex relationship of twelve years during which issues of duty, love, marriage, children, work, ambition and identity are interwoven. Finally their writers' vocations triumph as Margaret abandons the friendship, old, ill but still a master of her art and Kit leaves to continue on her path as a young feminist playwright.
